Everything I know about training, I learned by doing it at a high level, first on the track, then on the field.

I ran sprints. The 60, the 100, the 200, the 4x100 relay, and the 100 hurdles. My 100 best was 11.37. I was selected for the Team Alberta regional squad as a sprinter and turned it down to focus on school.

Out of high school I played for the Edmonton Huskies, with other offers on the table in Canada and the US. A serious head injury ended that chapter earlier than I'd planned. I won't pretend it didn't change the direction of my life, but it's the reason I do this work now. It moved me from competing to building.

I'll be straight about one thing: I don't hold a strength and conditioning certificate. What I have is years of being coached directly by people who competed at the NFL, CFL, and Olympic level. I learned how the best actually train, the parts that don't fit on a certificate. Then I spent years rebuilding those principles for people who don't have an athlete's schedule.
